034 – Communicate Like A Pro

034 – Communicate Like A Pro

In this episode I share the good, bad and ugly of communicating using email. Email can be a form of communication that makes you look like a pro or a heel. I know because I’ve been on both sides of the equation. In this episode I share some of the dumb stuff I have seen and done over the years when it comes to emailĀ correspondence.

I encourage you to stop using IE (Internet Explorer) and start using Firefox or Google Chrome Browser for the built in spell check if nothing else.

I announce an upcoming FREE webinar on how to get started using Google services for your email. You can learn more by signing up for a special mailing list I just started at http://bluecollarwebinars.com. This mailing list will keep you up to date on all our upcoming webinars both free and paid.

I do manage to remember the weekly sales update by my [sarcastic] friend Howard Sheppard over at Life Beyond The Assembly Line.

Here is a quick list of what I covered.
1. Story of why I started paying attention to my spelling and grammar online.

2. Use Google Chrome or Firefox

3. Change to Google Apps – mail@yourdomain.com can be done for as little as 10$ a year!

4. Dictionary.com

5. Don’t send 1 – 5 word responses, ever.

6. Never let your first email be from a mobile device.

7. Never gossip

8. Never argue – it’s a permanent record (always use phone to settle disputes)
