027 – RRP and Lead Certification
In this episode we welcome Sean Lintow Sr with SLS Construction who is a self made RRP expert. Over on his blog he has written over 40 stories on RRP.
Sean explains that only 40 states require you to be EPA certified. Ten other states have implemented their own RRP programs that meet EPA requirements.
Sean explains that while there is a lot of information online about RRP it is still in your best interest to read the actual rules and regulation located HERE.
Sean explains his biggest frustration with the EPA is their lack of education and enforcement of these rules.
According to Sean the EPA has three years to discover that you have violated the law by not being certified. The EPA doesn’t do so by showing up on site but rather by checking paperwork to see how old the house is and whether your firm was certified when the work was performed.
