In this show I give the unabridged version of my debt story. This is a must listen if you want to have a full understanding of where I’m coming from when it comes to business, debt and finances. I mention Dave Ramsey and how I used what I learned from him to keep from filing bankruptcy. I explain how I ended up with $35,000.00 of debt to the IRS and what I did to make sure I could make those payments over anything else. I talk about how awesome my wife (and best friend) has been through everything. I tell the story of how we purchased our dream home only to lose it 18 months later.

Very well done, my friend. Your honesty and candor is refreshing. I have no doubt that this was the hardest Podcast you've done thus far and may be the most difficult one that you ever do. Dave Ramsey is a really good example to compare to what you are doing, which is that you, like him, are someone who has gone through a lot of rough spots, because of mistakes you made, and have climbed, and are climbing, out of by using common sense, easily replicated steps. I hope those who are listening to you that are in similar situations will take advantage of your personal experience and will allow you to help them either get out of their own holes or, more importantly, avoid them in the first place.

And I loved Julie's closing, very fun!

You and your family have been a major source of encouragement for us during all of this.

Thanks for being in our corner!

We always will be. Your example and encouragement has helped us so much in our financial lives over this past year. I hate to think where I would be at and what my life would be like had you not taken me to see Dave Ramsey a little over a year ago.

Wow James, what an amazing journey you are on and you are so generous to lay aside your ego to help others who are going through similar problems. What stands out to me is how you were always trying to do the right thing (even seeking outside professional help) but everything still crumbled. I admire you and your wife for persevering when others might have given up. Blessings to you as you go forth helping others!

Gina thank you so much for your words of encouragement!

It is tough to talk about this kind of stuff. Keeping finances a secret is really what gets most of us into this kind of trouble in the first place. The more accountability we have in our finances the better off we will all be.

Thanks for coming by and taking part in the conversation!
